Who can benefit?
Anybody regardless of disability or age can join the group. A letter from the person's Doctor or other health professional is required. Members seem to be mainly adult as the group meet every Wednesday morning (weather permitting) from April to October.

How do I join in with the group?
Initially you must contact the chairman or secretary. You will find their details on the members page.
Speak to any member of the group and ask to be invited to visit a driving meeting to see if it will suit you.


What will I gain from the group?
Principally ENJOYMENT followed in equal measure by:

Confidence.
A sense of well being.
Improved self esteem.
Feel good factor brought about by achievement.
New friends.
Social outings.
Fun and laughter

Do I need to know a lot about horses to become part of RDA?
You don' t need to know anything at all! A little knowledge doesn't hurt but you will be taught everything you need to know as you go along.
Remember that RDA also has volunteer positions, such as publicity officers, fund raisers and more which might include no involvement with a horse at all!

To find out about riding or driving with RDA you should contact your local group or chairman. This information can be found on our members page.
The chairman will be able to give you information on all the groups in the area and it is suggested you should contact them in the first instance.

What is the minimum age for volunteering with RDA?
In order to volunteer with RDA you need to be at least 12 years old.

What does it cost? To enjoy all the benefits - a nominal £2.00 per drive/ride is charged.
Annual subscription is suggested of £10.
The group is entirely supported by charitable donations and local fund raising.
Help with coffee mornings raffles and any other fund raising is encouraged!
